I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Neuroimaging and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Manchester. I am also Deputy Course Director for the MSc in Neuroimaging for Clinical & Cognitive Neuroscience, based in the Division of Neuroscience and Experimental Psychology.
I am a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and hold membership of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, the Organisation for Human Brain Mapping, and the British Association for Cognitive Neuroscience.
I received my PhD in Medical Imaging and Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Manchester in 2013, with Profs Geoff Parker, Daniela Montaldi, and Dr Laura Parkes. This was jointly funded as a CASE studentship by the EPSRC and Unilever. I also have an MSc in Psychological Research Methods (specialism in Cognitive Neuroscience) from Aston University, and a BSc in Psychological Science from the University of Hertfordshire.
In the interim periods, I have worked on various projects ranging from investigating functional connectivity changes in healthy ageing, exploring associations of tissue inflammation in the temporal lobe with severity of encephalitis, to most recently working on a Wellcome Trust Programme Grant exploring the role of the medial temporal lobes in recognition memory.
